All four networks we stock — Telstra, Boost Mobile, Belong and Optus — provide excellent 4G and 5G coverage across the metro area. For regional Queensland and outback travel, Telstra (and Boost and Belong, which use Telstra’s network) leads significantly. For metro-only use, all networks are comparable — come in and we can check the coverage map for your specific address.
All three run on Telstra’s network infrastructure, so local coverage is essentially identical. The differences are pricing, plan structure and support. Telstra is the direct carrier with the widest plan range. Boost Mobile offers competitive pricing on the same Telstra 4G/5G network. Belong focuses on simple, no-fuss monthly plans and also has a data-only SIM ($40) ideal for tablets. Yes. Telstra’s $44, $54, $200 and $395 SIM kits include 5G where available. Boost Mobile’s higher-tier plans also include 5G on Telstra’s network, and the Optus $350 Voice 5G kit includes 5G on the Optus network. Your handset also needs to be 5G-capable — we can confirm compatibility with your device before purchase.
Yes — mobile number porting lets you keep your existing number when switching networks. When you buy a SIM at Mobiz, our staff start the port for you in store. You’ll need your account holder name, date of birth and account number from your current provider.
